I'm thrilled to have you here and would love to share a bit about myself, Let’s delve into where I am today.
At this moment, I find myself in my mid-30s, living a life free of chronic pain, with no asthma, great immunity, and a healthy body and brain. I am incredibly grateful to be in great health, allowing me to participate in any activity without limitations fully. I have cultivated an internal environment that prioritizes my emotional and mental well-being. Furthermore, I have been fortunate to develop meaningful relationships that empower me and those around me. I am fully aligned with my purpose, values, and beliefs. Life may have highs and lows which I meet with compassion, and I remain consistent, resilient, and confident.
I adore the person I have become and the work I do. I am blessed to reside on the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii, sharing my life with my faithful companion, Curtis, my dog. Over the past 15 years, I have established a holistic health and fitness business, immersing myself in a deep understanding of the nervous system, movement, and various methods of supporting individuals through the complex realms of healing, wellness, fitness, and performance. Above all, my focus is helping people integrate new supportive processes into their nervous system, allowing them to feel safe in their bodies, live authentically, and thrive. This comprehensive approach, encompassing physical, mental, and emotional harmony, proves most effective in working with clients.
Health has always held a special place in my heart, as it has been an integral part of my journey. Right from the start of my life, I faced numerous health challenges—both for myself and my loved ones. These experiences have profoundly shaped my perspective and fueled my desire to positively impact people's lives, to learn and grow continuously, and to be a strong leader.
My health journey has been continuous, marked by severe asthma bouts and a weakened immune system. I was taught to rely heavily on medication to participate fully in my early years. I vividly remember always feeling behind and needing precautions in everything I did. I felt different, and breathing never came easily to me. I was the child who mouth-breathed loudly while watching a movie—it was a challenging time. My body never felt adequately fueled, leading to a largely inactive childhood. Frankly, recollecting my early years is difficult, as they were overshadowed by the pain and difficulty I experienced.
As I transitioned into my teenage years, I learned to manage my symptoms with the help of an inhaler, allowing me to engage in activities and lead a more typical life. I recall starting to play basketball and hockey at a local community center when I was just ten years old. These team sports became my first love and were crucial in managing my symptoms while empowering me.
However, at 13, I encountered a life-altering obstacle—a skating accident resulting in a concussion. At first, the concussion didn't present significant challenges, but with time, its effects intensified. The trauma not only impacted my physical health but also affected my cognitive abilities, emotions, and energy levels. Simple tasks became overwhelming, and I struggled with speaking, reading, and writing, making school a considerable challenge. Fortunately, I received substantial support throughout my schooling, but I battled with body image, chronic pain, and a sense of self, further exacerbating my pre-existing difficulties. I often felt misunderstood and, at times, hopeless due to the lack of available care that could connect the dots of my health history.
Upon graduating from high school, I found myself at a crossroads—feeling directionless and uncertain about my ability to impact the world positively. However, during this pivotal period, I experienced a spark of purpose, an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, understanding, and healing of the body and brain. I set out to learn every aspect of health, fitness, the human body, and what it means to be human despite our challenges. During this transformative time, I began experiencing fewer barriers and less chronic pain as I implemented everything I learned into my life and those around me. This newfound hope and the belief that change was possible fueled my motivation to keep pushing forward. The more I learned about the interconnectedness of our health—the ability to move our bodies, the pain we experience, and how we function in life—the clearer it became that everything was intertwined. My journey became a testament to the incredible capacity for neuroplasticity and what is truly possible for individuals.
This journey has taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, self-compassion, and the intricate connection between the brain and body. I've discovered that true healing goes beyond treating symptoms; it involves addressing the root causes, consistently nurturing our brains and bodies, fostering supportive internal and external environments, and relying on others to support us. I'm incredibly grateful that I chose to keep moving forward, growing, and never giving up.
I firmly believe that every person deserves support and understanding, regardless of the complexity of their health journey. This belief serves as the foundation for my business, which is rooted in empathy, expertise, and an unwavering belief in the potential of every individual to overcome adversity and thrive.
